Couch

Couch enabled any number of people to share control of what they watch together.

Couch was a video jukebox powered by Twitter & YouTube. Popular at bars and house parties, Couch allowed anyone to add a YouTube video to a TV's queue simply by tweeting it with the hashtag assigned to that TV. Additionally, anyone who wasn't physically present could participate and view the same queue on their TV or computer, all synced in real-time.

I developed the idea after a great deal of iteration and realization that downloading an app was an unrealistic barrier for sharing a single video at a bar. I recruited a couple friends to build Couch using Node.js and GoInstant.

Unfortunately I fell ill and had to stop working on Couch, and while I was ill, Salesforce bought and shut down GoInstant.
